Church of Saint Michael, Ston
Mihailo Vojislavljevic was the first Doclean king. He ruled from the middle of the XI century until 1081. He rose medieval state of Voislavljevic`s to the rank of Kingdom in 1077, which was confirmed by Pope Gregory VII (1073-1085).
The Church of St. Michael rises on the hill of Goricia, where the medieval town of Ston was located. The church is known for its founder`s fresco, which depicts the figure of the first Doclean King Mihajilo Vojislavljević with a model of the church in his hand, as well as founder`s inscription: “I strongly pacify and rule over all Roman cities!”
